About Our Program

The Responsible Gaming Program

Responsiblegaming.com and its affiliated sites of Problemgambling.com, and Safegamingsystem.com, provide a broad-based Internet platform that allows the public and gaming industry universal access to inexpensive and effective solutions to avoid the behavior that leads to problem gambling.

Gaming operators recognize that the majority of people properly approach gambling as a form of entertainment.

However, some gamblers become addicted to gambling and experience serious problems as a result. Gaming operators who elect to use products and approaches that minimize the harm to their patrons are publicly promoting responsible and safe gaming. Such responsible gaming operators join with us to promote prevention, awareness and education regarding problem gambling. They also proactively provide assistance to people who may be vulnerable to developing gambling problems and to those already suffering from the effects of problem gambling.

The Safe Gaming System organization encourages safe and responsible gaming practices on the part of all gaming operators; however, the operators assume their own responsibility for practices and their interactions / relationships with their customers.

The crucial components of "Responsible Gaming":

It is important for all recreational gamblers to understand and accept that the first rule of responsible gaming applies to the behavior of the individual. Every gambler should make sure that he/she understands the risks inherent in gambling. One must understand the rules of the game played, including what the "odds" of winning are for the specific game. In addition, the gambler must have or develop the means to avoid excessive expenditures of both money and time for gambling. Self control is the key. Every gambler, no matter how experienced, is well advised to employ an effective behavioral aid, such as the OneRedChip smartphone application. Such a well-designed application is an invaluable tool to assist the individual gambler to maintain control over gambling behavior.

From the gambling venue's point of view, here are nine crucial things that determine whether or not the venue is operating responsibly. Responsible gaming policies are intended to provide guidelines to gaming venues to operate with high ethical standards. Many of the principles listed here will be discussed in more detail in future updates.

1. Ensure a secure, fair and safe gaming environment for patrons.
2.
Protect all patrons from adverse consequences.
3.Take measures to address underage and vulnerable players. Identify and block play for underage and/or vulnerable players. Address problem gambling issues and reduce its likelihood.
4. Implement anti-money laundering procedures.
5. Protect the data and records of patrons.
6. Ensure that payments to and from patrons are prompt and accurate.
7. Test and verify fair gaming, ensure randomness and rules adherence.
8. All marketing materials must be factually correct and do not target those ineligible to gamble.
9. Genuine processes should be in place for handling patron complaints and comments.
